Last year’s EFAO conference in London marked the first brainstorming session for an ontario-wide New & Young Farmers group. New & young farmers face unique challenges that come with the beginning stages of farming. Coming together as a group where we can share and learn from each other’s obstacles can be a great platform for overcoming these challenges! Already the 2016 gatherings have proven to be a useful way to share, learn, and network with eager and innovative growers. Looking forward to what the 2017 season has to bring for the group.
The EFAO would like to continue to grow the New & Young Farmers group. In order to encourage new members we are excited to be hosting a meeting followed by a mixer as part of the 2016 Conference in Kingston. Feel free to join us if you identify as either new to farming, or as a young farmer. The meeting will focus on the important issues discussed at the various New & Young Farmer gatherings that took place over the 2016 growing season, and ideas/events for the 2017 season. Following the meeting there will be a mixer at the Kingston Brew Pub to have a better chance to get to know and welcome group members!
When: Wednesday November 30th, 7:30-8:30pm
Where: Four Points by Sheraton, Kingston, Ontario.
*Mixer to follow at Kingston Brew Pub
