Solar grazing is the use of livestock to maintain vegetation under solar panels. It is just one practice under the larger umbrella of “agrivoltaics”: combining agricultural and renewable energy production on the same piece of land. Solar grazing can be a win-win situation: the solar panel company gets vegetative abatement around panels and other equipment; and the grazer gets forage for their livestock along with built-in perimeter fencing and shade structures (the panels!).
