Janice Brant

Kahehtoktha Janice Brant was born and raised on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in south eastern Ontario. Her parents Roger (kenha) and Patricia Brant operated a large-scale farm where they practiced both traditional Mohawk farming and foraging, along with modern agricultural methods. Janice is a teacher, artist, gardener and seed custodian. She has a Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Indigenous Studies from Trent University, a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, and holds a Masters of Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University.
