Aden Spurr Aden Spurr grows 1 acre of mixed vegetables at Quaker Oaks Farm in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Farming on the Canadian shield brings many challenges, especially with heavy clay soil, and a significant wetland as a neighbour. He has been experimenting with reducing tillage and human powered approaches to keep compaction down, have an earlier start in the very wet springs, and to encourage the beneficial connections of the soil food web.
